Usagi meet

Last Friday I attended a easter meet:)
I took the oportunitie to make use of a new cosplay, Nai from the manga Karneval.

Honestly it still misses lots of details. I made the shirt and shorts but ended up with not enough fabric to finish the bunny ears which would have worked perfectly with the meet theme being Easter haha and maybe i'm a bit colorblind because honestly I fest his outfit was red and now it sure does look pink. >_<.

I left details to much for the last minute and made his bracelet the night before and was to tired to cut his wigXD I thought I would get time the day itself and totally forgot and had to cut it in a tiny changing room on my knees on the bottom of a mirror while my WCS partner and her gigantic petticoat were occupying the upper mirror half. It still provided cute pictures though:

Aniplay

So last Saturday was the opening of a new Anime Store in my city:)
It had a few contests like quiz, poki and cosplay and It was a pleasure to be with my friends again:)
Sadly I don´t have pictures of the store itself but It was lovely, bright and had a lot of variety! I ended up Buying Camus to add to my saint seiya collection. besides the merchandise and cosplays they also sell contact lenses*__*. They import from Youknowit, a company that I started to hate but that's a story for another time. They do have nice lenses so if i can get them without the hassle of shipping I definitely will catch the opportunity:)

About the cosplay contest I ended up wining best costumeXD I was so happy, first time winning first place:)

There weren't many competitors but the skits were lovely. I didnt took any pictures so have a bit of cosplay silliness:

First 2013 post

whohohohoho first 2013 post and It comes this late--'.
But I have many news coming so prepare for incoming long journal.
Lets begin to announce that my sister has decided to abandon cosplay and engage all her forces to lolita. This made me very sad at first but she promise that if I asked her she would still make one or two cosplay with me and truth be told, in three years of cosplay we only did it together once. The good thing is that she gave me all her cosplay suplies that were piling up so I have now one more bag full of fabrics, sewing material, wigs and possibilities of new costumes.
So one of my new years resolution and challenge  was to cosplay completely on a budget and every time I can, do it for absolutely 0€. I'm pretty confident about it has I have lots of stuff to use that I need to take proper care of.
Another resolution was to diminish significantly my box of unfinished costumes that on the spam of three day increased a lot due to my bad planning--' Its something I hope to fix on my own and quickly.
As you probably saw already my cosplay list was updated, projects that I didn't conclude last year passed on to this one I will definitely make them despite me always changing my mind and adding more stuff OTL(already planning stuff that wasnt origininally).

Shoot Thorfinn

haven't been updating here properly--'

Yesterday I had a shoot with my photographer Tânia:). I finally finished Thorfinn and debuted it. I actually started this costume two years ago, the pants and the brown shirt were the first ones I ever made and they're full of mistakesXD the dress and small cape was what i finished and I also rushed the boot covers because my sewing machine isn't sewing properly so they're hand sewed. papapapapapapa. I'm in love with Vinland Saga because I love Vikings and Nordic stuff and this manga is actually serious and the mangaka toke time to research to make accurate portraits of the characters and the time. I definitely suggest you read it:)

Now for the shoot part:
It didnt planed this very ahead, we just picked up a day and hoped for the best it wouldn't rain and thank God it didn't though it was quite cloudy. After work I went to Palácio de Cristal, dress in the bathroom and them we sailed to find cool places without people.

As usual I super suck at posingXD

I chose this place because there was a small dungeon that fitted the theme. we had to trespass it because it was in danger of collapsing so I didn't climb it and took some poses next to it instead. 

´We didnt take many pictures, about 150 in 4 diferent locations.

My sister came later to join us to ruin the pictures as always

It was a fun day and i'm finally learning more about portraying characters which is my main flaw after costume construction, definetly doing more shoots with the costumes I have piling up around me but right now the weather is really cold so only warm costumes in the nexts few weeks.

Iberanime + Holloween + Previews

howdy!

Ok Iberanime came and went aaaaaaaaand I really enjoyed it again but I already made a huge post in my DA with pictures so I won´t talk about it that much. i just want to add that it was lovely meeting the ladies of AC Portugal and be a part of the group and skit. I actually didnt stick to the cosplay schedule and use Alisa on Saturday and Female apprentice on sunday because of it. Onto the news>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

This year Halloween I will be celebrating with a couple of friends on the mall and later we will be watching Silent hill revelations  yoshshshshshsh. This movie will be focusing on Silent hill 3 which is Heather's game and as some of you might remember, Heather was my first SH cosplay(well not exactly, it was Lisa but that's not important right now). I really hope this franchise will have a better outcome then Resi wich now is completely boring and lame. I might cosplay and make a shoot hopefully. Maybe I'll bring Claire. I really need some pictures.

Because I was a bit bored and my vacations are almost over here's a few previews that I made of lots of cosplays that will soon see the Light of a convention:)

I had already talked about this costume in another post and look, finished it today finally. The robe was all made with materials I had in home and I love how it came out. Altogether it took me 4 hours to finish. Its all lined and the red is the rest from one of Claire's vest:) yay recyclement of materials. I bought the Gryffindor emblem, the scarf and the tie on Ebay:). the wig I already had<3.

 Woohohohohoho I look so weird with no hair onXD. I didnt put a wig because I use my hair for this cosplay and because I was to lazy to take the wig cap offXD. I had made this jacket ages ago but I still needed to finish it as in put the light blue triangle and the fur on the collar and sleeves. Now i'm just missing her blue emblem. This is probably the next cosplay i'm using and also, because I dyed my hair red again and I have a brown wig laying around, I think I'm gonna style it and make a Korra wig.

I stopped watching anime a few months ago and have only made two exceptions, one of those being fate zero which my sister, enthusiastically, I may add, suggested me and  really enjoyed it. I also have to say that I'm a fan of humonculus and djiins and Ilya fits the profile:) This costume however needs to be improved greatly. I need to iron the seams and the pleats of the skirt better (as you can see in the picture) and her shirt needs to be fitted to my body a whole lot better. You cant really see but I put a lot of effort on the sleeves. My sister told me they really feel like a royal model and the fabric is really pretty too. The wig is one of those lucky biddings where only you seem to be interested in and I got a really long silver wig for around 10€. I finally am able to wear my red lenses too.

So the other exception of my anime strike was fairy tail. Its a bit long for my taste but its amazing. I adopted Natsu as my new Husbando and Lucy as my waifu. You actually already saw this last post. I sewed it in two afternoons after finishing Lucy's arc. When my sister was looking for something to wear on Sunday at Iberanime she saw this costume and asked if she could take it so I quickly finished the final bits and it was ready. She never saw Fairy tail however, what a poser, didn't even know she was missing her blue ribbon on her ponytail, her tatoo, her black bracelet, her belt or hers keysD: What you see on the picture is the costume after being worn on the convention so it needs a lot of ironing now and i would like to fix the chest area where the blue stripe seems to not be parallel like I want:(

This is actually a dream costume of mine though i'm not sure i'm bringing this anytime soon, it feels like i'm nakedx_x and i'm not exactly on my best shape right nowXD or at least is what my sister keeps telling me>s.

Wip + vacation + Iberanime

hello dears!

here's the promised journal with WIPs, I probably won't post more until Iberanime:)

So here's what I'll be wearing:

I don't know if I mentioned but I wanted to keep cosplay in budget as much as possible so all of the materials  we re already owned or scavenged in my house. the only things I had to buy were the trims for Alisa dress and a zipper and buttons for Claire´s vest.

Starting with Claire i already had her biker shorts, gloves, boots and black shirt. I just needed to make the black shorts and her vest. Her vest was the most challenging. I ended up drafting my own pattern and i really don't like how it fits>_> I already redid the pockets and they look much better but It still doesn't look very much like a vest to me. Maybe once I add the buttons it will look better.
This was also one of the cosplays on my cosplay list for this year, already did more than half of them\0/

Alisa was a big headache. I used no pattern for the dress and once I finished I realized about six flaws especially with the flare that was hard to achieve the way I wanted. I ended up making to pleats on the borders and after sewing everything together I realized I had one extra pleat on my right side OTL. The embroidery was really fun though. The circles ended up being a little to big and not really much that even (like everything I do, sight) but I really feel like a cute little russian princess with it. Even my mother said it was really pretty. After putting the trims on I liked it even more. The chemise is going to be one cute lolita chemise that I shall be confiscating from my sister's rori wardrobe. The shoes are not really that alike with her ones but they do match the dress.

I know that Alisa's wip photos look like shit but I promise that this looks so much better in real life. My camera just cant take good photos.

the right now is my biggest nightmare because I just cant seem to make the curl.

Ive curled other wigs before but this one just doesnt seem to keep the styling together at all and the fibers have alredy been showing the sings of worning outT^T.

she is died with the sharpie method and curled with the blowdrier. Hopefully i'll finish this two projects today because in in three days i'll be flying to Rome for vacation with my sister, mother and granmother<3<3<3<<3.

Which mean no last minute cosplay for me because i will only come the day after Iberanime.

Birthday

oh hello there.


This past week was my birthday, I turned 21. I feel so mature:), It wasn't a big deal, I got a lot of happy birthady thanks to facebook and my sister offered me 3 games one of wich, Deus Ex got me completely hooked!! havent done anything else since I started to play it<3<3<3 Thank you sister youre the best in the world\o/ she also gave me my very first Lolita dress, its baby the stars shine bright and  a shirt and  a cute necklace that remiinde dme the brothers in Nier.

I decided to give myself a trip to midori because I wanted to check the Ecg but sadly I was very sick during the trip and decided to leave really early. I was feeling so bad that decided to buy another ticket and at 15 I was already sailing awayDX. The train was one hour late because one person committed suicide and we had to wait for the doctor to arrive to declare the death I think:x poor soul rest in peace, I always feel sad when I hear about this things:(.


I had less than three weeks til Iberanime and with this crisis I decided that I am to stop spending so much money in my hobbies and try to save as much as possible so i'll be bringing new cosplays but they will be made with a zero budget. just stuff that are around my house. It will be a challenge but for now it will be like this. I already collected a dozen wigs and fabrics that will keep me occupied for the rest of the year. This means that i changed my cosplay schedule. I will be making Claire and Alisa which are on my list on the other page of the blog:) Expect a new entrie soon
