Really small update

So this is gonna be a really small update.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to Iberanime because of work and money issues and I wasn't the only one. Of a group of almost 20 people almost everyone backed out because of money, personal or work relates problems. others simple couldn't handle the pressure and quited and some didn't go either because we weren't Oo. i just have to say that trying to organized a travel like this one is really tiring and frustrating and I guess it really isn't worth it. managing money, goers, group tickets, transports honoraries, tantrums and reservations when half the people avoids you can be really quite a handful. I apologize to my friends Tânia and Silvério who went alone and said couldn't enjoy the whole experience fully because the group wasn't there;__________;

It was the first time ever I failed to attend an Iberanime lol. the first one I was eighteen years old and traveled alone thereXD time flies so fast! It menas that the cosplay plans were moved to Japan Emotion that will be held in two weeks. I'm really excited for it. My friends Lilax, Sui and CX will be entering the Eurocosplay;__________; You go girls!!!!!!!
Ill bring Claire to cheer on them and I'll participate in Saturday's regular contest wih a simple skit and costume of silent hill. Everything's ready, just need to sew a small Roger plushie because I cant make the big one for lack of fabric.
i also hear some people of lisbon will be coming and i cant wait to meat them too:)

Till nest time!!

XOXO, Cosplay Girl!

Update...

Sooooooooooo

I really don´t have much to say, I think I'm starting to get a bit lazy about the blogueXD bored to take pictures and that but it stops today:D. Gonna post about what I've been doing:)

A few days ago i had a shoot with Lilax, sister and Tânia. Only me and Lilax wore cosplay which was AC againXDXD.
we shoot in Porto cathedral and actually got some nice shoots. the shoot itself was a bit nerving, we had a creepy guy who wouldn't leave us alone, field trip kids mocking us, asian tourists pointing at us and some stupid lady screaming because we were taking pictures there. I'm definitely rethink locations shoots next time because cosplaying in public is really stressful.

I already posted some pictures in my DA but here's another one:

Super quick edition on photoscape and yes I dyed my hair:).
This costume was made for Iberanime last year and I never got decent photos of it.

Speaking of Iberanime sadly this year I wont be able to go to the Lisbon edition:(. Its the first time I skip it for I went to the other four times but work wont let me go;______________;.
I was really looking forward and even prepared two costumes but it seems I'll only go In October nowT^T.
It does mean though that I will have more time to prepare for Japan emotion that will be in one month.
i'm thinking of bringing Heather and male Panty but I have to see if I have the day off first.

On a last note, my sister still had quite a few yards of fabric from her stripey pants so I made a quick jacke of it and a shoot of Gian carlo:

I dont have hazel lenses yet so I wore my blue ones and I also forgot o take the glasses offXD.
I'm not sure if I have enough to make the pants but i'll try to finish the cosplay regardless.

Ok it wasnt much progress but its reported and updated<3
see you next time:)

Make up Post

I wanted to make a post about this for some time as well as I'll make another about wigs, fabrics etc.

Since last year I've been trying to perfect myself at cosplay which includes getting better at make-up. At the beginning I used to wear nothing or almost close o nothing because I was (and am) quite lazy about it but with the photoshoots and studying other people photos its obviously that make-up plays a very important part in a character personification.

Unfortunately I don´t have photos to illustrate some keys features like Applejack' freckles or Ludwig signs so I'll just post some make up stuff I have that helps me look better on photos and resemble more the characters.

Brushes:

I bought both of sets on ebay, the first one is the oldest, cost me about 6 dollars, its the regular one I use and the one that helped me understand better he usage of each brush. The second cost 14 dollars  and just arrived two days ago and smells like leather. you have to be careful with what you buy especially on the internet but luckily they were both nice quality.

Type of face

This is very important because the type of skin you have determines how many steps you have to take to apply your make up, the type of products and how many.
I have a type of skin that is extremely oily unfortunately--' which means that if I'm not careful and not  apply high quality products they will still start to "slide" down my face in 15 minutes max. Thats my friends always say that when i have eyeliner in my eyes I look like a clown. This means that I have to clean very well my skin and always use non greasy makeup and and powder. I also have to use as little products as possible.

Basic Routine

So after your make-up you must always wash your hands and face and then apply a moisturizing for your type of face. This will help a lot your skin always being pretty and not to be damaged by harsh make ups. Even if you don't plan on wearing any you should moisturize to prevent sun damage. your skin aging will be delayed greatly.
After this you can start preparing your skin. My basic routine includes primer, concealer, foundation and compact powder.
The make up tutorial in http://the-sushi-monster.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2zqu3b is the one I follow and it helped me a lot looking better and more natural with make-up.

«This is the the suff I use H&M, KIKO, the body shop, Boticário. They are quite affordable and nice quality, ok maybe not Sephora or Mac type but hey work great in my descusting, oily based, full of moles and marks washed out skin.

From here on it really depends on what kind of cosplay you´re doing but here are some great items that you should own:

False lashes:

I use (or used to) Claire's or H&M. They really work if your going for the sheryl nome type of eyes. you have to practice first because its takes time until you successfully put them but the effect really compensate the hard work and make up retouches some times you have to do. I wore them for my Len imitation Black and loved the look. Since then i've decided to lay them off though because I have very small eyes and big lashes look funny sometimes. Dont panic though small eyed reader like me because this leads me to my next  item;

Eyelashes curler:

you should wear this if your wearing fake lashes to help them look even, if you dont like me, then you can make he falsies effect by using his and:

Mascara:

This helps your eyelashes looking really pretty and big and appropriate to your eyes. Its not very dramatic but it still has that lovely star effect.

Ponty, shadow and foundation brushes:

You can leave the others if you don't want to much stuff going on in your make up bag (you should own one too!) you just need these. It will help you have a nicer smother face and more perfect lined eyes and and control better the eye shadow.

White eye shadow:

This helps your eye look bigger. Black makes them look smaller but also gives a nicer effect. I always use black;___;

Bronzer or brown shadows:

This helps you a lot with crossplaying. I haven't tryed out yet look more manry with this tecnich, I will soon but you really can change the shape of your face, jaw nose etc and completely look like a man. Here are some examples:

 There's also some other make up items that involve special effects and others way more simple bit this is the only things I use:) i hope it was useful fo someone and here's some tips.

tips
  •  ask a friend to warn you if your make-up, wig is messy;
  • its very important that your foundation matches your skin one otherwise it will show the difference between your neck hands, arms etc;
  • If you're wearing contacts put them before your make-up, i learned this the hard wayD:;
  • If you messed up don´t brush your make up out, gently press it again your skin and then some foundation on or you'll mess up even bigger.

Portusaki:)

No passado fim-de-semana ocorreu no Hard CLub o evento Portusaki.

No Sábado comi ramen (3,5€Oo) dei uma olhada pelas bancas, tirei umas fotos e tive que ir embora bastante cedo por causa do trabalho e falhei por completo o concuros de dança infelizmente no qual dois amigos meus participavam;____________;

A minha irmã tb participou no concurso**

Amazing time!!!

This is the second time I went to Portoshoot and I had such an amazing time like I hadnt in a long timeXD
It was really sunny this year so we were able to take a lot of pictures.
Unfortunetely I didnt had my siter with me because she was working but i'm glad I went because I talked with so many people and met others. There were people from Braga, Aveiro and Porto and there was a small compeition as well as a photography one.
I really need to thank my friends Lilax, Tânia and Rita for providing me with such wonderful memories. There was even a photographer from cosplayer Ezine^^

here are some pictures

we had so much fun derping around and taking stupid picturesXD
  And I need to learn how to make proper reports because they always turn out so boringXD

Next stop: Portoshoot!!!!

So I finally finished the costume.
Originally I was going to bring Applejack from MLP but When I did the try-out oh boy My legs were so pale so I'll cosplay her when I'm more tanned.
I ended up choosing to cosplay Female Assassin.
I made stash only and commissioned the robes to be costume made to my measurements but ended up with a huge bag that didnt certainly fitted me and I had to alter it like seven times to look more feminineD:
I still miss the correct sweater and gloves next time I use it but for now I will be fun.

Its my second time attending this event and i'll meet up with people I havent seen in ages\0/. I'll post pictures later<3

here's me with the costume and no make up at all<3

Sheryl

this is some progress for my sister.
I just need to add the black stripe to the lining of the jacket and that's done. Then its just the corset (which I think its going to be really hard!) and her armbands. I'm happy that we were able to find the perfect boots because the thing I like the most in cosplays besides good wigs is shoes that suit the character. I dont know if my sister wants to bring this to a convention because its so transparent thoughXD
